For as long as she can remember, Melissa has always loved art.
At age five she learned that Play-doh dries out over night, upon waking up to the five-inch-tall replica of her dog, Binky, beheaded on the kitchen table.
At age ten she discovered that it’s just as easy to check out an origami book from the school library as it is to check out a literary classic (and get away with it).
At age fifteen she realized dioramas aren’t just for elementary school projects.
At age sixteen she finally found out the logistics behind stop-motion animation.
At age eighteen she attended the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts where she studied film, animation and fine arts for four years.
At age twenty one, she graduated with a degree in Cinematic Arts-Critical Studies.
Post-college, Melissa is still pursuing an artistic path, oscillating between the live-action film world and the stop-motion animation world.
